Tom has extensive experience in training and development, managing performance, employment compliance, career management, compensation planning, and employee relations, with a focus of helping leaders turn around performance situations they face with their employees and teams.

Tom has held positions as Manager of Training and Documentation at Bank of America as well as Workforce Development Manager and Senior Human Resources Business Advisor at ING, both in Des Moines, Iowa.  His coaching clients are both new and experienced managers whom he guides in hiring, goal achievement, giving high-impact feedback, delegating, decision making, and problem solving. 

Most recently, Tom was a Senior Organizational Development Consultant at Principal Financial Group, where he consulted with leaders regarding their own and their teams’ development needs to achieve business success.  His focus has been coaching leaders to new levels of performance as well as designing and delivering leadership workshops.

He has received formal training in business consulting, corporate development, instructional design, coaching, and facilitating a variety of leadership assessment instruments.  Tom is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and American Society for Training and Development (ASTD). He holds a Masters degree in English from Drake University.
