An accomplished human resources professional, performance consultant, coach, facilitator, and change agent, Thom is a strategic, collaborative, and results-oriented leader with over 28 years experience in human capital management and development.  For more than 14 years he served  on the senior management teams of several major corporations, and over the past 26 years he provided direct leadership for nearly 50 highly competent and committed professionals.

Thom specializes in leadership development, talent management, and performance improvement, and he is passionate about helping other leaders hire, direct, develop, engage, reward, and retain top talent.  He has partnered with, consulted for, coached and supported leaders at all levels, with organizations of various size and complexity, from small local businesses to very large and diversified global corporations.  His industry experience includes banking, insurance, high-tech, media and entertainment, business process outsourcing, and wholesale distribution.

Prior to joining CRG, Thom led the human resources functions for ADP, Central Resource Group (now AVIVA), Commtron Corporation (now Ingram), and First Interstate Bank (now Bank of America); and also the learning and performance functions for Meredith Corporation, J&H/KVI, and Equitable of Iowa (now ING).  He began his career as a consultant with Davidson and Associates.

Thom earned both his Master of Arts (in Management Science) and Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Iowa.   He also completed all the coursework for a Specialist degree in Adult Learning & Organizational Performance from Drake University, where he taught as an Adjunct Faculty member for six years.  Thom is participating in programs to become a Lee Hecht Harrison certified consultant for the Leadership Effectiveness Analysis™, Strategic Leadership Practices™, Personal Directions®, and Career Transition.

A certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), throughout his career Thom has been an active member of the national organizations and local chapters of the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD), the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
